Exchanges and Cooperation

In serving national strategies and diplomatic policies, State Grid actively participates in important diplomatic activities, such as the Belt and Road Forums for International Cooperation, the China International Import Expos and the Davos Forums. Witnessed by heads of state, it has signed cooperation agreements with international counterparts, actively promoting international energy cooperation. It also tells China’s story, highlights State Grid’s voice, shares its achievements and ideas, and represents its strategic goals in the international arena, showing its image of an enterprise from a major country.

In recent years, State Grid has held several high-level international energy conferences, including the International Conference on Renewable Energy Development and Technology in Germany, Symposium on Integration of Renewable Energy in Portugal and the Third International Forum on Energy Transitions in Suzhou, China. Furthermore, it has signed framework cooperation agreements on Renewable Energy with Électricité de France (EDF), the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), the German Energy Agency (dena), Energinet and Redes Energéticas Nacionais (REN). In addition, technical exchanges with international renowned energy companies such as Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) and international peers have been taken regularly to promote green energy transition and accommodation as well as sustainable and healthy development of renewable energy in China.

State Grid actively participates in well-known international organizations and important exchange activities under multiple and bilateral cooperation mechanisms. The company won the Edison Electric Institute’s (EEI’s) 2018 International Edison Award for its Smart Internet of Vehicles project and its shore power innovative cases were elected as a case study under the framework of the Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM). Moreover, young experts have been selected to cooperate with IRENA for a joint report on renewable energy application

State Grid actively initiates and participates in high-level international forums and activities for wider and deeper international exchange and cooperation, as well as represents China's new development concepts and contributes the wisdom of State Grid. All these efforts are made to share China's innovation achievements with the rest of the world, thus boosting China’s influence worldwide.
