People's Daily: Clean Energy Reduces Pollution and Carbon Emission
The construction of Baihetan-Jiangsu ±800 kV UHV DC transmission project is progressing in an orderly manner.
Being a major project in China's West-to-East Power Transmission Strategy, it starts at Baihetan Converter Station in Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan province, and ends at Yucheng Converter Station in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province. It is planned to be completed and put into operation in December 2022. After being put into operation, the project will provide Jiangsu with over 31.2 TWh of clean energy each year, reducing coal consumption by 14 million tons, and cutting carbon dioxide emissions by 25.42 million tons. It will also optimize China's energy structure.
